Daiya Foods, the North American vegan cheese brand are launching in the UK in selected retailers, as soon as this week. Stockists include The Vegan Kind online supermarket, and selected Whole Foods Markets and Sainsbury’s stores, with the main focus in the London area.
CEO of Daiya, Terry Tierney said: “We recognise that consumes in the UK are making conscious choices to embrace both a healthier planet and healthier lifestyle. Our fans across the UK have been petitioning for Daiya products for years.
“This momentous launch demonstrates we are another step closer in our continued journey in bringing the incredible benefits of plant-forward living to more people worldwide.”
The products available include the Daiya Cutting Board Collection Shreds, Slices, Blocks, Cream Cheeze Style Spreads and Cheezy Macs.
Daiya Foods are one of the fastest growing plant based companies in North America, and is one of the founding members of The Plant Based Foods Association, who represent leading plant based food businesses in the US. In March, the company announced plans to move to a 400,000 square foot headquarters in Burnaby, BC, Canada. The move will be completed by the middle of 2020 and will enable the company to expand further.
Speaking of the move, Tierney said: “We’ve created great-tasting, allergy-friendly comfort foods that have delighted consumers in North America for more than a decade. We’re pleased to finally share our crave-able comfort foods to a larger audience and provide delicious options for every day.”
Daiya Foods are expected to be available as soon as this week on The Vegan Kind online supermarket.
