Wicked Kitchen Adds Vegan Sausage Rolls And Lasagne To Range

Supermarket giant, Tesco has introduced two new additions to its Wicked Kitchen range, vegan sausage rolls and lasagne.

The range was launched earlier this year, in January, in an attempt to expand the supermarket’s plant-based variety of ready meals.

The range, developed by chef Derek Sarno, has been hugely successful, as it has been reported that the retailer sold 4 million meals in just 323 weeks.

In response to this success, Tesco announced last month that they will be doubling the range, featuring foods such as Charred Pineapple Cake and Red Velvet Brownie. All of the range will be vegan.

The Wicked Kitchen range will now feature a variety of sandwiches, including a Bubble, Squeak, and Greens, and a Smoked Carrot Celebration on Rye and the Italian-Style Cold Cuts Sub made with slow-roasted celeriac deli “meat”.

It will also include a vegan ‘Cheesy Mac Attack Salad Bowl’ ready meal.

Sarno commented: “Selling more than double predictions is huge for a new brand, vegan or not.”

“We’ve beat the records and projections. We’ve proven to the world it’s time for a change and people are responding,” he continued.
