Morrisons launches Vegan Essentials Food Box

Morrisons Vegan Food Box launched

UK supermarket Morrisons has launched a new Vegan Essentials Food Box to help customers during the COVID-19 lockdown period.

Following an earlier launch of other food boxes, the Vegan Essentials Food Box has been created in response to requests for an option for those following a plant-based diet. It’s available for £35, a price that includes next-day delivery to your doorstep. The contents of the box have been chosen in order to feed two people for a week.

The box weighs just under 15kg and contains 23 different items. A typical box will include, amongst other items: chickpeas, couscous, lentils, meat-free mince, dairy-free cheese, vegan sausages, plain yoghurt, and a selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. As well as the Morrisons branded items, the box will include items from Pure, Alpro, Violife, Heck and Meatless Farm. The selection will allow customers to make a variety of recipes, including vegan pasta bolognese, rainbow salad bowls, soups, vegan sausage sandwiches, or granola.

Tessa Callaghan, Head of Food Boxes at Morrisons, says: “Many of our vegan customers have got in touch to ask whether we could create a food box for them. We’ve sourced some of the best vegan food for this food box as we continue to play our full part in feeding the nation during these unprecedented times.”
