Confectionery Giants Launch New Vegan Chocolate Bar

Confectionery Giants Mars Incorporated, Launch New Vegan Chocolate Bar

The American global manufacturer of confectionery, pet food, and other food products, are to launch a vegan version of their Galaxy chocolate bar.

This is the first time a large mainstream sweet brand is to offer consumers a plant-based alternative to milk chocolate.

The new version of the popular chocolate bar will be available in three flavours: smooth orange, caramel & sea salt and caramelised hazelnut. They will come in a widely-recyclable sleeve made of card and clear, compostable film.

Marketing director at Mars Wrigley UK, Kerry Cavanaugh, commented: “We’re so excited to be bringing these delicious treats to GALAXY®’s range using a vegan recipe that doesn’t compromise on the brand’s signature smooth and creamy characteristics. Wherever you look, you can’t avoid the vegan buzz in the UK and with the launch of GALAXY® Vegan, we’re thrilled to be offering vegans, flexitarians and lovers of sweet treats even more ways to choose pleasure with a brand they love.”

Mars Wrigley has been working closely with The Vegan Society on the launch and their logo appears on the packs.

The dairy-free additions will go on sale from Monday 18th November in Tesco stores and soon after online at Ocado and Amazon, retailing at £3 for a 100g bar.
