Beyond Burger UK Launch Suspended Indefinitely

The Beyond Burger’s UK launch has been put on hold for the foreseeable future due to product shortages. The burger has been popular in the US, with stores selling out and production has been increased to meet demand.

The burger was expected to launch in 350 Tesco stores two weeks ago and no new release date has been announced.

Beyond Meat executive char Seth Goldman said: “We’re seeing much higher than expected demand or the Beyond Burger in the US, and even in the few places where we’ve placed it in the UK, demand is higher than expected.

“We are taking steps to make sure that when we do launch, we will be sure to have enough product to keep the shelves full.”

The burger has been launched into Honest Burger’s Kings Cross branch, and has been met with a positive reception. Beyond Meat recently expanded their production facilities with a new factory opening in Missouri last month, providing over 250 jobs.

When the Beyond Burger does launch into UK supermarkets, it will retail at £5.50 for two patties. The burgers will be stocked in both the meat aisle and in the frozen aisle, following the US in the way that the product will be stocked.
