Booja-Booja Truffles Voted Tastiest in the UK

Booja-Booja has been voted the tastiest in the UK by the Good Housekeeping Institute, in a ‘blind’ taste test of 142 Easter chocolates. The hazelnut crunch chocolate truffles that are part of the Easter collection was the winner of the taste test.

The truffles are presented in a hand-decorated egg by the artisan chocolate company and retail for £9.99 for a small egg with 3 truffles inside, or £24.99 for 12 truffles. They are gluten, dairy and soya free and in the taste test achieved 89/100 due to their ‘smooth truffle filling’.

Brands that were in the run up to Booja-Booja was Tesco with their Finest dark chocolate Belgian egg with a score of 87/100 and Lindt with their Gold Bunny, weighing 1kg for £39.99, taking the lead in the children’s category, scoring 84/100.

Caroline Bloor, consumer director at Good Housekeeping said: “It’s clear that traditional retailers are having to do more and more to ensure consumers’ ever-evolving taste buds are satisfied.” Bloor added: “Seeing a vegan-friendly egg take the crown may come as a surprise to some, but this is why our famous blind tests are more important not than ever before.”

The products were judged on taste, texture, aroma and appearance. Other categories in the test included a showstopper, which saw Marks & Spencer take the top spot with a decorated milk and dark chocolate egg with dulce de leche truffles, scoring 80/100.
