Vegan ‘Sheese’ Stocked by Australia’s Largest Supermarket Chain

Australia’s largest supermarket, Woolworths are starting to stock vegan ‘sheese’. The products that will be sold in store are the cheese slices, shreds and blocks. The launch of these products in Woolworth’s follows the boom in plant based alternatives to dairy cheese, with the rise of veganism being one of the main reasons for this.

In a statement on the company’s website, Sheese director, Mark Crichton said: “Just like the UK, plant based is booming down under, and 2018 looks likely to set new records, as more and more people awaken to the benefits of plant based products.

“It’s incredibly rewarding to see Sheese becoming a well-loved brand around the world, bringing our longstanding vision to life and giving people an alternative to dairy that they love.”

Woolworths is the first Australian supermarket chain to stock Sheese, which has previously been stocked by small businesses. Bute Island Foods have gathered 15 awards and nominations with their Sheese products, and have over 20 years of experience as one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of dairy-free and vegan cheese products.

Sheese is owned by Bute Island Foods and made in Scotland. The company supply to two of the UK’s largest supermarkets, Tesco and Sainsbury’s, with the company securing the range of Sainsbury’s Free From cheese production.

Sheese products are popular with people who have intolerances due to being dairy, lactose, palm oil, hydrogenated fat, artificial and GMO ingredients. Alongside this, the products are made in a factory free from any allergen ingredients to avoid cross-contamination.

Love Sheese. Especially the cheddar block. But have had trouble sourcing it.
Will check with Woolie’s again. To me, this is the best vegan brand of ‘cheese’.
    Love it.
