Vegan 'emporium' joins Manchester's bustling plant-based scene

New 100 per cent plant-based store will open in Stockport in Manchester, tomorrow.

The Herbivore Vegan Store – an independent, family run, food store will be based on Wellington Road South, near the town centre.

Owner Claire Dickinson, who has been vegan for just over a year, told the local media: “We have a lot of vegans in the Stockport area. The vegan community has been really supportive.

“When I became vegan I realised how difficult it is…you tend to start eating the same food all the time, so it can become a little bit monotonous.

“I just wanted to make a shop where everything was safe for vegans. So I do that difficult bit and make sure that every single bit of stock is 100 per cent vegan.”

Products on offer include cooking sauces, cheeses, pastas, dried beans, tinned lentils, herbs and spices, plant-based milk, cream, custard, chocolate and cheesecake.

The Herbivore Vegan Store will open on Friday, December 16.
