Vegan Consumers Ecstatic As Cadbury’s Announce New ‘Plant Bar’
The wait for a dairy-free Cadbury’s treat is over, as the brand confirm the launch of their new vegan chocolate bar: the Plant Bar
After years of demand from vegan consumers, popular chocolate brand Cadbury’s has finally announced the release of its first-ever vegan chocolate bar – Cadbury Plant Bar.
The new Cadbury Plant Bar, available from November, will debut in two delicious flavours – Smooth Chocolate and Salted Caramel.
A Very British Apology
Accompanying the announcement, Cadbury has issued a very British apology to all plant-based eaters across the country, saying:
The first of Cadbury’s vegan chocolate bars marks a milestone for the company as well as for veganism, which has now infiltrated so many of the nation’s most iconic non-vegan chocolate brands, including Mars’ Galaxy, Bounty and Topic. The new vegan release is made with a blend of cocoa, almond paste, and rice extract, to deliver delicious chocolate, with a lusciously smooth texture.
In a statement sent to Vegan Trade Journal, Michael Moore, marketing manager at Cadbury, said: “We’re delighted to finally confirm that the rumours swirling around Cadbury Plant Bar are true!”
“We’ve worked hard to add this delicious, dairy-free option to our iconic range, and we can only apologise for making our fans wait. Ensuring we deliver against our commitment to exceptional flavour has taken quite some time, but as of November, the wait is over.”
‘Most Missed Treat’
Past research has revealed that more than a quarter of plant-based Brits rank Cadbury Dairy Milk as their most missed chocolate treat[1], and so this latest vegan chocolate bar launch from Cadbury will be massively welcomed by vegans, as well as those looking for great-tasting plant-based indulgence.
The Cadbury Plant Bar, 90g, will be available in Sainsbury’s nationwide from November 2021 and newsagents and supermarkets across the UK from January 2022 onwards with an RRP of £2.50*. The bar will be located in the chocolate aisles.
