UK’s Leading Online Vegan Retailer Announces Crowdfunding Campaign
Founded in 2013 by Karris and Scott McCulloch, TheVeganKind was once just a subscription box, this was then followed by a beauty box. In 2016, the business moved into the world of eCommerce and opened an online store, which now stocks over 4,50 vegan products.
Having tapped into one of the fastest-growing lifestyle movements, the business has dispatched over 130,000 orders in 2019 alone amassing £5.6m in revenue since the company’s inception.
The Seedrs campaign will enable the business’ growing customer base to invest in and support them, as it looks to expand its operations and improve accessibility to a vegan and plant-based lifestyle for people across the UK.
In Britain alone, veganism has quadrupled in the last four years. It’s not just vegans though – 92 per cent of plant-based and vegan meals eaten in Britain were consumed by non-vegans. Innovation in the sector is also booming, with the UK launching more plant-based products than any other nation in the world last year.
Scott commented: “We completed a successful rewards-based crowdfunding campaign at the back end of 2018 and we got lots of questions asking when we would be doing an equity raise and when customers could buy shares in TheVeganKind.”
