The Body Shop Expands It’s Cruelty-Free Range With New Launch

Cruelty-free beauty brand The Body Shop has launched a new, special edition line of vegan products.

The collection will include a variety of different banana-scented body care products, including body butter, shower cream and body yogurt, which will all be made from Community Trade organic banana puree from Ecuador that uses bananas that will not sell in the food industry. The packaging features a bright pink label designed by Warhol-esque banana art.

Instead of using dairy in their products, The Body Shop have used almond milk in their in their new moisturizer, Body Yogurt.

The new banana products will be available both individually and in gift sets, however it should be noted that one set includes shampoo and conditioner which are not vegan.

The Body Shop is a pioneering company for plant-based products, as not only do they offer an array of vegan-friendly options, they produce no products which contain animal-derived ingredients and clearly state which ones are 100 per cent vegan.

The brand has also helped to campaign against animal testing, with Forever Against Animal Testing, which achieved over four million signatures in six months. Once they have achieved their target of eight million signatures, the petition will be presented before the United Nations in an attempt to issue a global ban on animal testing.
