Superdrug launches vegan products

Superdrug is introducing a line of vegan, cruelty-free brands to its range.

Often confused by consumers, vegan products do not contain products derived from animals but this does not necessarily mean that the products are not tested on animals. A product which is labelled as cruelty-free is not tested on animals at any point during the creation of the item.

B. Cosmetics and B. Skincare are exclusively available at Superdrug and are partnered with Cosmopolitan and Elle, among others. Sarah Gardner, Superdrug Head of Beauty said: “Animal derived ingredients are in a multitude of make-up products and it’s not easy to create high quality cosmetics without compromise. We’ve worked for almost two years on the new B. Make-up collection and cannot wait for it to be revealed to beauty lovers.”

The collection is affordable with no item exceeding £10 and includes skincare, make-up, beauty accessories, make-up brushes and men’s products.

Top picks include the B.Latex-free Blending sponge (£4.99), B. Blusher and contour brush (£5.93) and B.Matte Lipstick Candy Crush (£6.99).

Cassie Lomas, a make-up artist to the stars, has collaborated with B. to create her eponymous collection which includes the B. Cassie Lomas matt liquid lipstick all about me (£6.99).

Lomas said: “It has been amazing to work with the team at B. on the make-up collection. As well as inputting into the shades and formulations of the launch range being able to create my own capsule collection of products has been a dream.”
