Sausage Roll Brand Announces Move into Plant-Based Market

Wall’s Pastry announces the launch of its first-ever vegan range.

The UK’s number one sausage roll brand Wall’s Pastry has made a move into the plant-based sector of the food market.

Walls is a brand owned by one of the UK’s leading food company, the Addo Food Group, who specialise in the chilled savoury pastry market.

With over 200 years experience in the meat industry, market leader Wall’s Pastry has made the decision to expand its range to include vegan offerings, meaning more choice for the consumer, tapping into the growing demand for plant-based alternatives.  The move will open the brand up to the 91% of consumers who describe themselves as flexitarian and the 3.5million Brits who describe themselves as a vegan.

To mimic the ‘meaty’ texture of a sausage roll, Wall’s has used a blend of minced mushrooms, oats and seasonings.

Now available to buy in most major supermarkets, the line-up showcases an on-the-go range of meat-free pastries that include a vegan Jumbo Roll and a BBQ Jackfruit Jumbo Roll, both retailing at £1.25. In addition to these options, they are offering snack-friendly four-pack versions of both aforementioned pastries, that retail at £1.50.
