Sandwich Shop Chain Launches New Vegan Option

The sandwich shop chain EAT. has launched a new vegan option

Eat is a chain of sandwich shops with 95 branches in the UK, including 75 in London. They specialise in serving on-the-go food made from fresh, seasonal ingredients.

Now, EAT. has announced the addition of a new menu item:  their Mushroom Melt – a vegan smoked ‘Gouda’ cheese toastie that is available across all of their UK stores.

The EAT. menu already offers plenty of vegan options spanning from a number of breakfast dishes such as a mango and coconut chia pot and a coconut and quinoa porridge, to a choice of more substantial meals including a chana gobi wrap, a spicy and smoky bean chilli, a variety of salads and hearty soups, as well as a selection of healthy snacks and fruit pots.

Emily Williams from the EAT. food team comments: ‘We’ve created a hearty plant-based toastie, ideal for the colder months. Our vegan smoked ‘Gouda’ is made from coconut and potato but has the texture, melting characteristics and complex flavour of regular cheese, we can’t wait for our customers to try it.’

Holly Oades, Customer Director, EAT., adds: ‘We are thrilled to add a delicious and filling vegan toastie to our menus this autumn. We believe our vegan ‘Gouda’ is the best plant-based alternative on the high street, and challenge everyone to try and taste the difference.’

EAT. will be offering free samples of the new Mushroom Melt across all U.K. stores until 12th September, available at lunchtimes, while stocks last.
