UK pub chain Marston’s will be the first to serve the Moving Mountains B12 Burger in 413 of their locations around the UK from 5th September 2018. This deal is expected to generate over £1 million revenue for Moving Mountains as the pub chain taps into the plant-based market.
The Moving Mountains B12 Burger is one of the new innovative ‘bleeding’ burgers, which sizzles, smells, tastes and smells like meat but is completely vegan. Developed with scientists, chefs and farmers over the course of three years, the burger contains 18g of protein and uses natural ingredients to create the taste and texture of the burger.
Simeon Van Der Molen, CEO of Moving Mountains, said: “We are delighted that Marston’s has chosen us to supply our B12 Burger across the whole of the UK. It has become the fastest listed food product in Marston’s history after tasting the B12 Burger and recognising that they had to be the first major chain to roll out this revolutionary food item.
“Moving Mountains is a British business building an exciting brand at a time of great change in how and what we eat. This marks a huge leap in innovation for humanity and will allow consumers to bite into a future that is better for their health and the health of our planet. We can’t wait to hear feedback on the B12 Burger from Brits across the country.”
Nicola Arrow, Marston’s senior food development manager, said: “We have listened to our customers and taken the growing demand for healthier and alternative options across the pub sector as a great opportunity to develop and update our menu.
“We wanted to find the right supplier for this home-grown product and we believe we have found a great partner in Moving Mountains. It is an exciting opportunity for us to work with a new British business, which is at the forefront of real change.”
The Moving Mountains burger responds to the changing diets of British people, with veganism continually increasing and flexitarianism becoming a popular diet.
