Yesterday, Tuesday 20th November, PizzaExpress launched their new Christmas menu, which featured a vegan pizza and dessert.
The popular Italian restaurant invited VTJ to sample their new vegan dishes – and we were pleasantly surprised by the high-quality ingredients used, and the authenticity of both dishes.
The brands first ever festive vegan main, the Mushroom and Pine Nut Pizza, features Portobello mushrooms, and pine kernels, and is finished off with fresh rosemary and own-brand dairy-free mozzarella.
The Bianca-based pizza will appeal to meat-eaters, vegetarians, flexitarians and vegans alike, as consumers will not notice the absence of dairy due to the delicious vegan cheese alternative.
For dessert, the brand offers Snowball Dough Balls – a sweet twist on the classic doughball starter – which are accompanied by a fruit coulis, and dusted with cinnamon and icing sugar.
These options offer delicious, festive options for dairy-free diners. The chain has consciously added plant-based dishes to its Christmas menu to ensure all consumers are catered for, in light of the recent increase of veganism.

As PizzaExpress offer such high-quality vegan options, consumers are more likely to choose the restaurant over other chains that do not accommodate meat and dairy-free diets.
