Parisian-style bistro chain Café Rouge is launching a vegan afternoon tea

Another Veganuary offering, the Café Rouge’s new afternoon tea for two includes a choice of hot drinks and three tiers of plant-based treats.

Guests will be served a baguette filled with grilled vegetables and a sun-blushed tomato tapenade, alongside a helping of large green giarraffa olives. This is followed by traditional fruit scones with Bonne Maman jam and dairy-free spread.

The top cake tier will be full of ‘Plantisseries’ that include mini rhubarb and ginger crumble pots, carrot and pistachio cake slices and billionaire bar covered in rich salted toffee and chocolate ganache, finished with splashes of edible gold.

Head of marketing at Café Rouge, Jacqueline Fletcher, commented: “With thousands of people pledging to try veganism this month, Veganuary is on-course for its biggest year yet. We’re delighted to be meeting the increased demand of our customers with a Vegan Afternoon Tea offering that doesn’t compromise on flavour. From our crunchy Carrot and Pistachio Slice to Mediterranean-inspired Baguette – there’s something for every taste and the Vegan Afternoon Tea is the perfect treat this January!”

In 2019, more than a quarter of a million people in the UK took Veganuary’s pledge to try a vegan diet. Café Rouge has helped make this possible for even more people in 2020 with plant-based dishes available on all of their menus from breakfast through to dinner.

Available from the 6th – 31st January, priced at £29.95, guests can also add a glass of vegan Baileys Almande for just £2.50pp. To pre-book this experience, visit Café Rouge’s website
