Oatly expand production to the US following consumer demand

Swedish oat milk company, Oatly, has announced that they are expanding production to the US, following increased consumer demand. A 19,000 square-foot processing facility will open in Millville, New Jersey.

It is expected that this expansion will allow the brand to produce eight times more of their popular oat-based products. Oatly has five products available in the US – their original flavour, low-fat, barista and mocha.

Oatly recently announced that they would be launching a new range of milk products, with their whole, skinny and semi, as a new range of alternatives to milk. Other products made by the Swedish company include yoghurt, cream, ice cream, lattes, and crème fraiche.

Branding their products as ‘milk but made for humans,’ the brand consistently picks up consumer attention with their witty marketing and adverts, found on billboards and on public transport.

The dairy-alternatives market is an area that continues to grow, and as more people become aware of the animal cruelty involved in producing milk for human consumption, plant-based milks are increasingly popular.
