Nike Launch A Vegan Trainer, Made Out of Sawdust

The New Nike Air Max 90’s are Made Out of Sawdust

The new trainers are a collaboration with Maharishi – a London-based streetwear brand that produces fashion inspired by military clothing, made out of eco-friendly fabrics such as hemp. The trainers have been created to celebrate the opening of the brands’ flagship store in New York City’s Tribeca neighbourhood.

The Maharishi x Nike Air Max 90 trainers are made from reused sawdust, recycled foam, organic cotton and dyed with Maharishi trademarked pomegranate and turmeric.  According to Maharishi’s Instagram, the sawdust used to create the signature Nike tick has been obtained from grinding down used shipping palettes.
