UK’s Largest Mexican Food Chain Launches New Vegan Menu
The popular Mexican food chain Chiquitos has revealed a new protein-rich, plant-based menu, using ingredients such as jackfruit, banana blossom, palm hearts and the popular soya protein brand, Oumph!
Featuring an innovative take on Mexican classics, Chiquitos goal is to make Mexican-inspired food more accessible to the nations changing food habits. With four vegan starters, five main courses with side dishes, three desserts and a vegan-specific drinks list, flexitarian, vegetarian and vegan customers will now have a wider selection of dishes to choose from.

Earlier on this month, the popular Italian restaurant chain Bella Italia announced that they will also be serving the brand Oumph! on their menu, giving customers the chance to try the soy-based meat substitute.

Available from 9th July in Chiquito outlets nationwide, the new menu will include a starter of banana blossom croquettes, a vegan burrito (‘vegaritto’) as a main that features Salty and Smokey Oumph! pieces with Oatly creme fraiche, and Mexican churros with a chocolate sauce for dessert, as well as plenty of other vegan-friendly dishes to choose from.
