Mobile Butcher to Appear at Vegan Festival

The West Midlands Vegan Festival will be hosting a ‘vegan mobile butchers’ this year.
Sgaia’s Vegan Meats produces plant-based meat alternatives including streaky rashers, smoked steak, rare roast beef and German spiced wurst.

This ‘mheat’ is handmade from scratch, in small batches using wheat and soya protein.
According to the makers, it’s ‘flavourful, high in protein, low in fat and keeps in the fridge for up to 3 months. Just like an artisanal bakery makes its bread, it all starts from a dough, which is then seasoned and cooked differently according to several carefully devised recipes, to create a variety of products that authentically reproduce traditionally meat-based foods’.

You can visit the vegan butcher at the Sgaia stall at The West Midlands Vegan Festival, which takes place on October 29 and 30 from 10am to 6pm both days, at Wolverhampton Civic Hall, North Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 1RQ. Admission is £1 (under 16’s free), payable at the door.
