Outstanding Veganuary Product Launch for the Yorkshire-based Company

Award-winning plant-based dessert company, Freaks of Nature, has exceeded sales expectation on their latest product.

The Yorkshire-based brand, which launched a guilt-free, indulgent chocolate dessert, just in time for Veganuary, has seen sales soar by over 200 per cent in the first three weeks of the year.

This latest product from the expanding company is the only plant-based Belgium chocolate mousse currently available in the UK.

The mousse joins their ever-expanding range of desserts and is made at the Freaks of Nature’s state-of-the-art production facility in Ossett, which is British Retail Consortium (BRC) – grade A accredited and is the largest factory of its kind in Europe.

The delicate and creamy texture of the dessert has been created using an aerated process. This claims to bring a new light and airy dimension to the product with only 150 calories per pot.

Freaks of Nature founder, Peter Ahye, commented: “We’re all about making innovative, great-tasting desserts that everyone will love. Whether that’s someone looking for a vegan and allergen-free alternative, a lower-calorie chocolate fix or just a really gorgeous sweet treat for all the family. The new mousses are proving to be a big hit with kids, especially.”

Peter launched the business in 2016 having identified a gap in the market for inclusive, delicious tasting vegan and vegetarian puds.

A passionate foodie, Peter set about developing a range of ganaches, cheesecakes and hot puddings, which the company now supplies to major retailers including Co-op, Asda, Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Ocado, Planet Organic and Whole Foods.

Developed to meet the needs of customers with dairy, gluten and egg allergies and for those following a vegan or vegetarian plant-based lifestyle, Freaks of Nature puddings are suitable for over 98 per cent of the UK’s consumers.

By the end of January, the dessert market disrupter will have 20 products on sale.
