Cruise Line Announces New Vegan Options

Royal Caribbean International announces new vegan options

The American cruise company is the world’s largest cruise line, with a 50-year history of providing luxury sea-bound holidays.

Although vegan options have always been available onboard Royal Caribbean ships, the new menus that have been added to the Main Dining Room offer a more bespoke dining experience for vegans and those following a plant-based diet.

The three-course menus will be available on request, with options such as edamame-stuffed Portobello mushrooms, vegan spaghetti “bolognese” and an orzo pasta stew with green vegetables. In addition to this, there will be a range of luxury desserts on offer such as a toffee “cheesecake” with dark chocolate and a peanut butter crust.

Vice President of Food & Beverage, Royal Caribbean International, Linken D’Souza commented: “At Royal Caribbean, we’re always looking at how to raise the bar of our dining offerings and we do it with one specific purpose: delivering great holidays for our guests. As the number of people and families adopting a vegan lifestyle continues to grow, we wanted to formalise our vegan offerings in a dedicated menu (available upon request in the Main Dining Room) where guests can explore options and choose their dish – it’s all part of the dining experience! It’s important to us that we meet holidaymakers’ dietary choices.”

The vegan menus will be available on request in the Main Dining Room across all Royal Caribbean ships, except those sailing from China in 2019/2020.
