Candy Kitten is going vegan

Candy Kitten, a gourmet sweet brand, has revealed its plans to make all of its sweets suitable for vegans.

Jamie Laing, famous entrepreneur and Made in Chelsea star, launched the company in 2012 and has had incredible success. In fact, he was included alongside his co-founder, Edward Williams, in Forbes 30 under 30 Europe.

Currently, most of the sweets contain beef gelatine except the sweet pineapple and sour apple flavours, which use tapioca and potato starch. However, the company are planning to make their entire range 100 per cent vegan early next year. As well as being vegan, the sweets are gluten free and only include natural flavours and colourings. Their company focuses on being inclusive for a range of diets and their website includes recipes for vegan and free from desserts.

The percentage of 16-24 year olds who follow a vegan diet is around 20% and therefore Candy Kitten are tapping into this young market with their eye-catching packaging and famous founder.
