Popular US vegan chain by Chloe is coming to UK

Two years ago, by Chloe had just a single New York City premises, but the brand has since branched out to seven locations across the US with another four planned to be open before the end of 2017. Now, by Chloe plans to open a brand new location in London.

A food expert recently described the plant based industry as “game-changing” as the market continues to thrive and the vegan fast food chain reported sales of $10 million in 2016, according to Business Insider, no mean feat for a new business with a 100 per cent plant based menu. Plus, the brand tries to keep its food affordable with all menu items coming in under $12.

The London branch of by Chloe will be located in Covent Garden, though the company is rumoured to be seeking out alternative locations for future expansion, both in London, across Europe and even in the Middle East. Up to $13 billion has reportedly been invested to aid the expansion.

Co-founder and president of by Chloe, Samantha Wasser, said: “International expansion was always part of our long term plan for by Chloe. I’d read that London is one of the greatest food scenes in the world; once I visited I saw what the hype was about. We’ve built a huge following on social media and have fans in multiple countries consistently asking when we’re coming.”

Despite the huge growth, it hasn’t been without its problems. Wasser’s fellow co-founder, Chloe Coscarelli recently left the company after issues with its partner hospitality group Esquared. The vegan brand has teamed up with hospitality group TGP for its international expansion.

London has various vegan-friendly restaurants, but the growing community of vegans and flexitarians who are cutting down considerably on meat will be excited by this new addition. The company already has a cult following from social media and the online buzz surrounding the vegan chain. Vegan consumers can looking forward to trying the burgers, fries, noodles, meatballs and other food on offer which are aimed to be as appealing to a meat eater as they are to a vegan. Head to the company website for more info.

L0ndon recently came at the bottom of a list of the best European cities for vegans in terms of number of vegan-friendly restaurants in comparison to population, so by Chloe will help to support the growing vegan population of the city.
