British burger brand launches the UK’s first vegan ‘bleeding’ burger

Moving Mountains, a British plant based brand is launching the UK’s first ‘bleeding’ burger, mirroring products available in America such as the Impossible Burger and is comparable to Beyond Meat’s patty — the Beyond Burger.

The Moving Mountains B12 burger is made from coconut oil, wheat and soy, potatoes, mushrooms and beetroot juice (for the ‘bleeding’ effect). The burgers also have added vitamin B12, giving essential nutrients that are traditionally found in red meat.

The Moving Mountains B12 burger is made to mirror meat burgers in the ways that it smells, tastes and sizzles with browning on the outside whilst remaining red on the inside, similar to rare cooked beef. The nutritional value of the B12 burger outweighs that of beef patties, with 20g of protein, no cholesterol and low in saturated fat, the burger comes in at only 116cal per patty.

Moving Mountains founder Simeon Van der Molen said: “Moving Mountains is a British brand launching the UK’s first ever raw bleeding plant based meat burger. This marks a huge leap in innovation for humanity and will allow consumers to bite into a future that is better for their health and the health of our planet.

“Our 100 per cent plant based meat B12 Burger has taken scientists, chefs and farmers over two years to make and is the closest replication to animal meat in the UK, but requires less land, less water and produces less greenhouse emissions.

“The environmental impact of the animal agriculture industry is becoming catastrophic and so it is essential that technological innovation keeps up to provide a real solution  for food that is sustainable but doesn’t compromise on taste, therefore providing a viable alternative for vegans, vegetarians and meat-eaters alike.”

Simeon is also the founder of vegan household brand Ecozone, which he launched back in 2000. With the environment and passion to make a positive difference to the planet at the foresight of both his brands’ core values, the Moving Mountains B12 burger is expected to be a hit with consumers as there is currently nothing else on the meat-free market in the UK competing against the meat industry at this standard.

The Moving Mountains B12 burger will be available to UK consumers in 2018 when it launches nationwide at restaurants and retailers.
