Beyond Meat have announced plans for the Beyond Burger to be launched in the UK, and have partnered with distributors The Authentic Food Co. Recently, the company announced that they would be launching the plant based burger patty in 50 other countries around the world, including countries in Europe.
When announcing the launch of the burger into more countries, CEO Ethan Brown said: “Reflecting rapid demand growth in the United States and sustained interest from international markets, we’ve taken steps to significantly increase our production capacity.”
The Beyond Burger is still relatively unique in the product that it is, with only one other competitor in the UK restaurant industry, the Moving Mountains B12 Burger. This burger launched recently, making its debut at Mildred’s restaurant in Dalston. This burger is now going to be served in Dirty Bones restaurants as a permanent addition to the menu, and it’s the first non-vegetarian restaurant to do so.
The Beyond Burger is designed to mimic the texture, taste and appearance of a beef burger patty, with the hope to encourage people to choose a plant based option over a meat burger. The burger is available from today.
